    Description

This sale is for a very rare BWC (bandwidth control) upgrade kit for JRC NRD-535D receivers with a serial lower than BR56005.
The JRC part number for this kit is
6ZPJD00070.  The selling price for this NOS (new old stock) upgrade kit is commensurate with it being new and it being extremely rare.
JRC upgraded the NRD-535 receivers to the NRD-535D with the addition of the 1000 Hz filter, ECSS and the BWC boards.  With the CFL-243 bandwidth board installed, bandwidths locked in at 2 and 4 KHz could adjust this control in 10 Hz steps without varying its center frequency ensuring effective interference rejection when in the AM mode.
After serial number BR56005, JRC manufactured the NRD-535D receivers so that the bandwidth control
also operated in SSB taking the receiver to another tier of operation.  And this is where the upgrade kit is helpful.  In order for the earlier serials to operate equivalent to the later serials above BR56005, JRC offered a kit that included a couple of ROM chips, a couple of filters, and installation directions.  Until this kit came into our hands, we were unaware that JRC offered a retro serial number upgrade kit for the older serial 535D receivers.  We were able to research and found that this special kit was sold by dealers in 1996 for a selling price of 9.95.
According to the BWC modification kit information, this kit enables modification of the BWC so that after modification, the INTER bandwidth can vary from 500 Hz to 2.2 KHz.  The Wide selection will vary the IF bandwidth from 2.0 KHz to 5.5 KHz.  Thus, as you can see, this is a wonderful option which enables the IF bandwidth to be adjusted as if the receiver had multiples of IF filters installed covering a range from 500 Hz to 5.5 KHz.  With the ability to adjust the bandwidth so precisely, the operator can select a bandwidth that slices out side channel interfering signals while allowing for the widest bandwidth possible for best audio.
