Vintage 1980 Sleepy Eye, MN Alternate Olympic Track & Field Games Unused Ribbons
Please view all pics for condition. Ribbons are unused but show signs of storage wear. During the 1980 Olympics the United States boycotted it to protest the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. So Sleepy Eye, MN put on its own Alternate Olympics! Over 100 athletes showed up to compete. My dad helped out during the event and that’s how I got these ribbons. 25 ribbons total from 1980. 22 of them are for 4th place in the Relay, 1 for Third Place in the Relay, 1 for Sixth Place in the High Jump and 1 for 4th Place in the Low Hurdles. Would be cool to frame 4 of them all together. Neat piece of history from the 1980 Olympics Boycott.
