RARE Vintage Collins radio 75A4 receiver Howard Mills 75A-4A escutcheon DIY part

Description

For auction is a vintage, Collins 75A-4 receiver escutcheon from a Collins receiver famously modified by Howard Mills into a 75A-4A. Item(s) being sold as found and has not been cleaned, cleaning will be left to the winning bidder if they choose to do so. Item(s) is from a smoke free home. Please see all pictures as they are part of this description. Item is in excellent overall condition, but does show some light wear/age. Item is intact with no cracking and no chipped missing parts. Please also note this item retains each of it's factory original, white lined marks on the curved portion of this escutcheon. Item was removed from an estate of a silent key who was an avid Collins radio collector and had close to a dozen different 75A-4 receivers, two of which were the famously modified 75A-4A Mills specials. This escutcheon was found in a neatly organized box of parts and was not removed from the front panel of one of the receivers by the seller. When and off of what it was removed is likely forever left with the silent key. Either way, the escutcheon itself surely is an original Collins radio part as all pictures indicate. Whether the winning bidder would like to leave it as is to be used, put it in their parts inventory, etc. is completely up to them. The 75A-4A 'tag' is stationary on this original Collins escutcheon and it appears that no extra, non original holes have been drilled when it was added. A well known, vintage ham radio part...for one of the best ham radio receivers ever, by a famous Collins radio restorer. Only the vintage, Collins 75A-4 receiver escutcheon from a Collins receiver modified by Howard Mills into a 75A-4A portrayed in the pictures is included in this auction. Please see all pictures and utilize ZOOM for more details. Please feel free to ask if needed.
