HAMMARLUND HQ-129X, RED LETTER VARIANT . WORKING UNIT!!

Selling this recently purchased HAMMARLUND HQ-129X This is the early "red letter" variant (late 1940's) The unit is in working condition. I wired a speaker to it and just a couple of short wires to the antenna and I was able to tune in a couple of radio stations. The only thing I have done to this unit is replace the 5U4G tube with an NOS 5U4GB tube. The tube broke during shipping of the unit. I am selling the unit for what I have in it minus the cost of the 5U4GB tube, the taxes and fees, So actually already less than what I have in it. The only reason I am selling it is because I actually like my earlier ham radios more than this one. I know crazy, huh?  I am selling the unit as pick up only due to its size and weight.. If you really want the unit shipped it is going to be quite expensive.

general coverage receiver tunes medium wave and shortwave in six bands:  .54-1.32, 1.32-3.2, 3.2-5.7, 5.7-10, 10-18 and 18-31 MHz.
Bandspread:  80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters. Other enhancements include:  antenna trimmer, noise limiter, RF gain, S-meter, stand-by and AVC on/off.
This radio does not have a built in speaker. There are speaker terminals on the rear panel. Eleven tubes. 117 VAC 60 Hz.
