    Description

    Check from the First National Bank of Helena, Montana, to the order of the Bank of Montreal, on the Fort Dearborn NB of Chicago, August 1895.  Interesting that the Charter number of the Bank is actually printed on the check, below the check number.  Great vignette of the Yellowstone Valley at upper left, in the classic, slightly overwrought late 19th Century style.
    Condition typical of issued bank checks of the period.  Punch cancelled "PAID" at center, as well as the amount (85) punched at upper left.  An attractive check for a larger amount that commonly seen.  Shipped with rigid insert for protection.  I am happy to combine shipping - please use the ebay Shopping Cart feature and ASK FOR AN INVOICE before payment.
